With 20 years on the concert and opera stages in Europe and the world, Oxana Arkaeva has also often been a stunning and gracious cruise performer. Both on and off the stage, Ms. Arkaeva is charming and engaging. But her unique onstage artistry combines one of the world's most beautiful soprano voices with extraordinary acting skilss, natural beauty and poise. With a concert reperoire that goes from Porter to Rachmaninoff to the greatest soprano arias and duets of Mozart to Wagner and Strauss to Verdi and Puccini, Oxana Arkaeva a diva that delivers, no matter the occasion.
Biography
Oxana Arkaeva was born in the Ukraine into a family of singers and musicians. There she received her first musical education, studying the piano and the Russian folk instrument domra.
After successfully finishing her high- and music school studies, Oxana went to Moscow with the aim of studying acting and music. The turn towards singing came as a surprise after she met the Moscow Philharmonic soloist Angelina Trost, with whom she studied vocal technique. This intense and demanding work led to further studies at the Music College of the Moscow Conservatory, and later at the Conservatory itself.
The years at the Conservatory had a strong formative influence on Oxana Arkaeva's musical and personal development, helping mold her musical world vision that she carries with her to this day.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Oxana went to New York to continue her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, and began her stage career. She won numerous competitions and was invited back to Europe by Marc Belfort, the head of International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House.
Since then, Oxana Arkaeva has performed continuously at numerous Theatres and Concert Halls throughout Germany and Europe, as well as Venezuela, Mexico, Russia and the United States. She has been a member of the Frankfurt Opera, the Saarbrucken State Theatre, and the Ulm Music Company of Theatre.
Oxana Arkaeva is the winner and finalist of numerous international competitions, including the St. Hertogenbosch International Vocal Compeition in the Netherlands, the 1st Marion Manderson International Vocal Compeition in Maryland, the Serge and Olga Koussevitzky International and the Vocal Art Competitions in New York, the Belvedere Singing Compeititon in Vienna and the Pacido Domingo World Opera Competition held that year in Mexico City and broadcast nationally throughout the United States.
